The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 24SFF CTO Server, Part Number 868704-B21, is a powerful and highly scalable 2U rack server chassis designed for demanding enterprise environments. As a Configure-To-Order (CTO) platform, it provides the flexibility to customize the processor, memory, storage, RAID controller, networking, and other components according to specific business and workload requirements.
The server features a 24SFF (Small Form Factor) drive configuration, providing up to 24 front-accessible 2.5-inch drive bays. This high-density storage configuration makes the server an excellent choice for organizations that require a large number of storage devices while maximizing performance and storage density within a compact 2U rack form factor.
The 24SFF configuration is particularly suitable for enterprise environments that require a combination of high-performance SAS or SATA storage and SSD configurations. Because 868704-B21 is a CTO model, no specific hard drives are included as standard, allowing customers to configure the storage capacity, drive type, interface, and quantity according to their requirements.
The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 platform supports compatible Intel Xeon Scalable processors. Since this is a CTO server, the processor is not included as standard, allowing customers to select an appropriate processor based on their performance requirements. Depending on the selected configuration, the system can support processor options suitable for general-purpose computing, virtualization, databases, business applications, and other enterprise workloads.
The server includes 24 DIMM slots, providing extensive memory expansion capabilities. Compatible HPE DDR4 SmartMemory can be configured based on the selected processor and workload requirements. This flexibility allows businesses to build a server with the appropriate memory capacity for current workloads while maintaining the ability to expand in the future.
For storage management, the DL380 Gen10 platform provides an embedded software RAID capability and supports compatible HPE Smart Array storage controllers. Customers can select an appropriate storage controller based on their RAID, performance, and data protection requirements. The server also provides flexibility for additional storage configurations and compatible enterprise storage hardware.
The 868704-B21 includes an embedded HPE 1Gb Ethernet 4-Port 331i Adapter, providing multiple network connections for business and enterprise environments. Additional networking options can also be added through compatible HPE FlexibleLOM or PCIe network adapters, allowing organizations to upgrade network connectivity according to their infrastructure requirements.
The server includes three standard PCIe expansion slots in the primary riser, with support for dual M.2 storage depending on the configuration. This expandability provides flexibility for installing compatible RAID controllers, network adapters, Fibre Channel cards, GPUs, and other PCIe expansion devices.
The 2U rack form factor provides an excellent balance between compute performance, storage density, and data center efficiency. With its high-density 24SFF drive configuration, the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 is particularly suitable for organizations that need substantial storage capability without requiring additional rack space.
For efficient cooling and reliable operation, the 24SFF CTO configuration includes six performance fans. The system is designed to support demanding enterprise workloads and configurable hardware options while maintaining proper cooling and system reliability.
For remote management and simplified administration, the server includes HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) with Intelligent Provisioning. This technology enables IT administrators to remotely monitor and manage the server, helping simplify deployment, system monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and day-to-day administration.
With its 24SFF high-density storage configuration, flexible processor and memory options, expandable networking, configurable storage controllers, PCIe expansion capabilities, and enterprise-class remote management, the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 868704-B21 provides a versatile platform for demanding IT environments.
The server is well suited for a variety of workloads, including virtualization, databases, cloud infrastructure, enterprise applications, software-defined storage, business-critical workloads, and general-purpose computing.
