The HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen10 8SFF CTO Server, Part Number 841730-B21, is a powerful and highly scalable 2U rack server designed for demanding enterprise and data center environments. As a Configure-To-Order (CTO) platform, it allows businesses to customize the processor, memory, storage, networking, RAID controller, and power configuration according to their specific workload requirements.
The DL560 Gen10 is designed for organizations requiring substantial compute performance and scalability in a compact 2U rack form factor. The server chassis provides two processor sockets as standard, while configurations supporting three or four processors can be achieved with the appropriate optional processor mezzanine hardware. This makes the platform suitable for demanding workloads requiring greater processing capacity.
Since 841730-B21 is a CTO model, it does not come with a fixed processor configuration. Compatible Intel Xeon Scalable processors can be selected according to the required performance level. This flexibility enables organizations to configure the system for workloads ranging from enterprise applications and virtualization to databases and other compute-intensive environments.
The server provides extensive memory expansion capabilities. In its standard configuration, the system supports 24 DIMM slots for compatible DDR4 RDIMM and LRDIMM memory. Depending on the processor and optional hardware configuration, the platform can support expanded memory configurations for more demanding enterprise workloads.
The 841730-B21 features an 8SFF (Small Form Factor) storage configuration, providing eight 2.5-inch drive bays. This design is ideal for businesses requiring a compact storage solution with the flexibility to configure compatible enterprise hard drives or solid-state drives. Because this is a CTO server, no hard drives are included as standard, allowing customers to select the required drive capacity, type, and quantity.
For storage management, the server platform includes support for HPE Smart Array S100i software RAID. Additional compatible storage controllers can be selected based on RAID requirements, storage performance, and data protection needs. The final storage configuration can therefore be customized for the specific requirements of the customer or application.
The server does not include a fixed embedded network controller in the base CTO configuration. Instead, it provides a FlexibleLOM slot, allowing customers to select a compatible networking solution. Additional network adapters can also be installed through available PCIe expansion slots.
The DL560 Gen10 provides flexible expansion capabilities through PCIe slots. The base configuration includes three PCIe slots, while additional expansion capabilities are available depending on the processor and riser configuration. This allows organizations to install compatible networking adapters, storage controllers, Fibre Channel cards, and other enterprise expansion hardware.
For reliable operation and efficient cooling, the server includes six hot-plug redundant fans. The hot-plug design helps support system reliability and simplifies maintenance in enterprise data center environments.
For remote management and simplified administration, the HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen10 platform includes HPE iLO (Integrated Lights-Out) management with Intelligent Provisioning. This allows IT administrators to remotely monitor and manage the server, helping simplify deployment, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Advanced management capabilities may require additional licenses.
With its multi-processor scalability, expandable DDR4 memory, 8SFF storage configuration, flexible networking options, PCIe expansion capabilities, and enterprise-class remote management, the HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen10 841730-B21 provides a highly adaptable platform for demanding business and data center environments.
The server is well suited for a variety of workloads, including virtualization, enterprise databases, business-critical applications, private cloud infrastructure, server consolidation, ERP systems, and general-purpose enterprise computing.
